Hi All, and thanks you for the great response to my query re the 'Shingles' jab.
However it has had to take a 'Backseat' for a while, as I had a phone call from my Haematologist this morning telling me that my Boods are not good. She is concerned have Lymphoma which is causing nodes to press on my kidneys.
She has ordered another body scan, (The last being on 6th June this year.) She has also asked for more Blood tests, next week.
She asked me if I had changed any medication recently, which I have, on the advice of my Chest Consultant. I saw him recently, who, after a scan, noticed that I had 'Bronchiectasis'. I was on Ramipril, and he put me on Candesartan, as he thought the Ramipril may be contributing to a persistent cough have had on and off for the past year.
I have also been on two 6 day course of Antibiotics over the last two weeks. My GP was not sure whether it was another Virus Infection, or a Bacterial one. 'Sputum' tests were negative, so at the moment, she had given me a 'Backup' higher dose if I need it at the weekends.
My Hematologist told me to stop taking my Blood pressure pill, until she has the results of the Scan and Blood tests. My recent bloods were taken on the 7th of November and the valid ones are as follows:
Hb 98. WBC 115. RBC 3.22. HCT 0.318. MCHC 30.3. Lymph 110.00.
This is further complicated by an MRI scan taken at the end of July this year, which resulted in what they thought was a Bells Palsy' which did not respond to Steroid treatment. The MRI showed fo a Tumour, in my Parotid area, on the same site where I had two Benign Tumours taken out in 1974, and 1984, respectively. The last being treated with Radium'.
Since then I have had three separate, needle biopsies done in an effort to determine the exact nature and progression of the Tumour. The first two were unsuccessful, the last one, they managed to get three samples, which may produce the results they want. If not, they will do another thicker needle biopsy, and if that fails they will do another under a small dose of anesthetic.
I have now been transferred from my local hospital, to another larger one, and am under the care of the 'Multi Disciplinary Team'. ( MDT) there.
The Tumour has been prioritised, and treatment for my original CCL was put on hold, until the result of the biopsy, and a decision on what, if anything can be done in relation to this Tumour, which is in an awkward location in my neck. I am told that radium treatment is not an option, as I have already had some. A Major Operation would be needed, which would be problematic for a younger person with no underlying health problems.
After the call this morning it appears that CLL/Lymphatic treatment is nearing priority, and should not be put off any longer. My Haematologist will inform both my GP and the MDT, and after she looks at the results of the new scan and blood tests, and speaking to the MDT, she will decide how to proceed.
The Palsy, which is now thought not to be Bells Palsy, is untreatable, and I am scheduled to see an 'Cosmetic Surgeon' for procedures on my eye and mouth on the 20th of Novemeber.
I saw another Haematologist three weeks ago, and he was fairly happy, then with my latest other Bloods, and after a thorough feel of my 'Nodes', so I am hoping that it is 'New Blood Pressure Pill' related.
It may be worth mentioning, that I have recently been suffering from bad fatigue, and bad shoulder aches, as well as other not so bad limb aches at times. This has been going on now and again for a couple of years, but in the past three weeks it has been more often, and bad enough that after an hour standing, I just have to sit or lay down until the ache recedes, usually after minutes.
Any thoughts, or similar experience which can be shared would be much appreciated.
All the best, to all. Ron
