So I am to see my consultant in a face to face consultation this afternoon. I have telephone consultations for the last three years. My doctor said she isn't worried but wanted to feel 'my bumps'. Nervous as always, fingers crossed 🤞 please.

Face to face consultation
That's my experience too ... I think that she (the doc) just 'missed ' me ... at least that's what I told Mrs ygtgo !😎
Wishing you a successful visit. I did similar after three years of phone consultations.
I hope all goes well for you and you don't have to wait too long in a waiting room, that's what I don't like. I'm sure you've got your list of questions too. Good luck.

Appointment was 4.15pm and we arrived at 4pm. Only us in waiting room. Didn't see my usual consultant but saw a very nice young lady doctor. She had all my notes and said that my consultant was happy with my bloods. She checked me over throughly, didn't find any lumps and bumps. She said there was no need for scans. Repeat prescription given and collected. I will receive another appointment for three months. A very happy bunny!! Flu jabs Wednesday, new kitchen beginning of November and then we can think about holidays. Yay!!
That sounds so positive - very pleased for you. I am in a similar position as for the last 4 years have been on the Dawn Haematology system ( Reading) whereby I do my bloods annually and about 2 weeks later I get a standard letter saying " Stable lymphocyte count. The remaining blood results are within limits" . This always amuses me as each year nearly all the results are worse than the previous year but not significantly- no doubling etc and they are outside " normal " limits. I miss the previous hospital visits when I was checked for lymph nodes and spleen enlargement so this year I rang the hospital to ask if i could have a face to face consultation as I was worried about the possibility of growing nodes and enlarged spleen and without any delay this was agreed. My appointment is next week so hope my news is as good as yours.
Yay yay yay. Well done to you

Thank you for asking. I didn't see my usual consultant but saw a very nice lady doctor. She had all my notes from Dr Munro. She said that they were very happy with my bloods, examined me throughly and couldn't find any lumps and bumps. She said that unless I notice any changes, they don't need a scan. A repeat prescription was given and I will be checked again in three months. Very happy. Also because I have to collect my medication from the hospital pharmacy, some 25 miles away, I asked the secretary if she could request Dr Munro to issue the prescription so that I could collect yesterday. It worked, saw the doctor and then went up to pharmacy. Tablets were there so that's saved another long journey.
Are you now on the hard tablet form Alice, just received mine and they have changed from usual capsules.
Dave.
Oh I don't know, let me look! No Dave, still capsules. Collected from Scarborough. Are you keeping well?
Good thanks Alice, like you I had a face to face with my consultant, everything is good, Like Westie11 says the hard tablet doesn’t interfere with other meds and is kinder on the stomach.
Stay well and keep safe this winter, Dave.
Yes I a, now on tablet form. I asked nurse why the change and was told it doesn't interfere with other medication so is better to take. Glad to know the reason for change.
Glad things went well. I did telehealth in the US for the first 2 years of the pandemic and then went in person. With all my providers, I always request that they wear a mask when I come in person. You were smart to go to your appointment close to the time you would be seen. Good luck with your journey!
