Hi. I don't know about that post but i wear an FFP3 mask or an FFP2 if i cannot source the FFP3 as an absolute minimum. Best wishes.

I think recent research in a hospital in Cambridge showed that the FFP3 afforded NHS staff the best protection. I think that the fit of the mask is very important, the FFP3 needs to have no gaps around the edge. I have recently topped up my January 2020 stock of FFP3 mask from a industrial supplier, I opted to get 2 different makes just to find out which fits me best, they are expensive due to supply. A very well known internet general supply company has reviews implying that many of the masks on offer could be fake? Please be mindful of using respected suppliers.

I and my family have been wearing these for the last year:

tuffshop.co.uk/5log-pro-liv...

They are quite expensive, but the livinguard technology has disinfecting properties as well as the filter layer. They are washable in cold water and usable for 7 months.

I have just seen similar livinguard masks on ebay for much less money, but I haven't investigated them as yet.

FFP3 mask is recommended (as is getting fitted for best fit)! Not being able to source FFP3 in UK, I use clinical facemask & Red cotton mask with N95 Filter. as per

healthline.com/health/doubl...

Red colour seems effective at getting people to move, (or maybe that's my walking stick).

Aim to continue with facemasks d washing hands, although have seen delta variant is 100 % more transmissible than original.

Can I recommend Dr John Campbell on UTube, he is usually good at explaining covid, unless he is angry! He has interesting idea that side effects of AstraZeneca vaccine clotting is due to intravenous injection as vaccinations currently trained not to pull back on syringe to make sure not on blood vessel (ie aspirate - normal technique used!)

You can also make your own salt mask.

Here in the U.S., engineer Aaron Collins has a YouTube channel where he tests many different brands of masks, and posts results online. Some may be available from UK manufacturer web sites. His tests focus on ease of breathing and filtration. His method is more stringent than most international testing methods.

More Mask Tests! Plus Mask FAQ, and the *FUTURE OF MASKS*

Dec 25, 2020

The FAQ is also at the Google Drive link above.

The results are in a sheet called Master Mask Testing Data Set.xlsx at the Google Drive link.

He stresses a few of things:

1. The fit is very important - a mask that fits him may not fit others so well. He includes size measurements. An FFP3 that doesn't fit will could be worse than an N95 of KF94 rated mask that does fit well.

2. Avoid masks from large online marketplaces like Amazon or Etsy. There are many counterfeits. Buy from the manufacturer's web site.

3. A good mask can last several days of continuous use, but rotate your masks. Don't try to clean them. Rain doesn't seem to affect them much, though.

Aaron talks very fast. I have to slow down the YouTube video to understand some of it.

Best of luck,
