My husband has been on Ibrutinib for the last 15 months. The dose was reduced from 3 tablets a day down to 2 after the first couple of months because of some side effects.

He also gets some little red spots on his skin. He also has a very rosy looking face something he hadn't had before taking this medication.

I don't know if this helps you at all.

At least we are not alone! Thank you for replying.

These tiny broken blood vessels are common with Ibrutinib. A lot of us get them -- face, hands, arms, lets. They seem to be spontaneous, as I never remember hitting anything that might cause them Mine go away on their own within a day or two. Seem pretty harmless. Small price to pay for healing, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes. Sores in mouth are also part of Ibrutinib's gift. Discovering Natural Factors Organic Oil of Oregano, purchased online, has been the cure for me. I squirt 2 drops on the toothpaste on my toothbrush every time I brush my teeth. Before spitting it out, I swish it around like a mouthwash.

Oil of Oregano has antimicrobial properties. It quickly healed the sores that were present, and no more have developed for the 3+ months since. I like that it is a food and not chemically produced -- it is combined with olive oil. It has a potent flavor, dancing on the tongue, so a little goes a long way.

I also started mixing the oil with shea butter to create a creamy lubrication for my nails, which the Ibrutinib was also affecting. If I have an open crack on my the skin around the nails, it's good to know that this combination helps deter infection.

I picked up my next dose of Ibrutinib at the specialty pharmacy today. Since I live 12 minutes away, it's so much more efficient to get it while running errands rather than waiting at home all day to sign for the package whenever FedEx finally arrives. I didn't even have to give them my name or show ID today, as I am now recognized after 8 visits. So grateful to receive this healing medication at the behest of the PAN Foundation and all those generous donors who fund their coffers, not to mention all the researchers, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies that had the vision to create it.

Gratitude is the name of every day at pill time.

I had a rash as a side effect of Ibrutinib. It started as "pin prick" red spots. Report this immediately to your oncologist and get a qualified, knowledgeable dermatologist consult. If it is the beginning of a rash, your oncologist may advise a temporary reduction of Ibrutinib and/or use of steroids. I hope it is not that or at least it is manageable.
