Is it pollen season, do you have some post nasal drip? That can cause a sore throat, as well as coughing. We've had some unseasonably warm weather, I had a headache all day until I started taking my allergy meds which I usually don't need until May.
Hi SofiaDeo Thanks Yes I do have post nasal drip I live in Nz its still Autumn here till June so maybe there is pollen around
Some people have awful tree allergies, perhaps that is it. Can you take a nonsedating antihistamine? That may help. Sometimes my allergies are so bad, I take loratidine during the day, and diphenhydramine at bedtime. A number of people also like fexofenidine, but I think it's more expensive.
Hi kiwi I have similar only more like an upper respiratory infection for 3 weeks now! Doc gave me a cortisone nasal spray too. He did offer me antibiotics but I refused at that stage. Im wondering if it is an allergy. I might try the antihistamine pathway too I’ll see if that helps.
I live in Christchurch NZ and definitely have seasonal hay fever which includes waking up with a bit of a rough or sore throat. It’s there right now in Autumn but don’t let it worry me too much. Don’t think it is CLL related. Kia kaha!
I’ve noticed the hint of a sore throat and a slight swelling on one side. I took Mucinex three times and it seems to have disappeared. I take Zyrtec daily.
I had the same thing with what seemed like a golf ball in my throat moving from side to side.
It was clearly an infection but, amazingly, I gargled with TCP and it went!
Try it.
I am CLL in remission for two years after treatment with O & C.
I had a chronic sore throat (and some other symptoms) - it seems to have been caused by acid reflux (GORD/GERD). I have been prescribed lansoprazole, and the sore throat has disappeared. Now if I get a sore throat, it means that I have a cold.
