Our 2022 Christmas Donations Appeal Will you help us to reach and support more CLL patients this Christmas?

This year has been another difficult year for everyone, especially for the vulnerable and the charities that support them, like CLL Support UK, the charity of which HealthUnlocked CLL Support is the online support presence.

We know that this Christmas may be more relaxed than the last two, but it remains a difficult time for so many people with CLL, their family, and friends. As we come to the end of 2022, we want to give you a chance to take something positive from this year and make a real difference.

A donation to CLL Support UK will help you make that real difference.

Please Donate Now: cllsupport.org.uk/donate

It’s a chance for us to come together (however we can) to support the charity that has supported us, our families and our communities throughout the pandemic and beyond – answering helplines, running webinars and support groups, lobbying on behalf of our community for better support, treatments and guidance through the year.

We want to continue to offer our expanded services and believe these will still be needed in 2023 and beyond.

So, here is an opportunity for you, your family, and friends to help your charity. The charity that helps you.

What can you do? If you can afford it, please consider making a donation. If possible, a regular monthly donation would be even more helpful.

How your money will help.

£2.50 could pay for an information pack to be sent out to a new CLL Support members in the UK. Many of our new members are newly diagnosed and need urgent information on their condition, we post an information pack to all new members that join CLL Support UK. They are often worried and confused and they find the information that we provide invaluable. In addition to this service to new members, this year we have printed and sent out an updated information pack to all our UK based members.

£10.00 could pay for a one-hour helpline call to someone in need of help and support. Our phone line is run by volunteers who are there to give compassionate advice and support. They help people with CLL and their friends and family to share their concerns with someone who really understands. During the pandemic, calls to our helpline increased by 400%, and remain very high. All helpline volunteers receive special training for this vital service.

£35.00 could cover the cost of producing and sending an email bulletin to all our members. We produce regular news updates to inform our members of all upcoming events and latest news on CLL. We are at the forefront of current CLL advice and in touch with the top CLL experts in the UK. To keep up with the ever- changing government guidance and to ensure our members receive the latest information from a trusted source we have doubled the number of email bulletins we normally send.

£50.00 would go a long way to paying for a conference place in 2023. We usually have up to about 100 attendees, and we want to keep our conferences free for all who attend so that there is no financial barrier for anyone who needs our help. We also run a bursary scheme to help members travel to conferences who otherwise couldn’t afford to come.

Thanks to your generosity last year, we were able to help fund the new wellbeing website. You can find it here: cllsupport.us4.list-manage....

Next year we will expand it to help more people who are struggling with a diagnosis of CLL.

Neil, do you know if CLL have signed up to Amazon smile? - in effect same deals etc on Amazon but if you purchase something through Amazon smile the charity receives 0.05% of the cost of the product - very easy to do this and whilst many of us either hate shopping or worried about crowds or both a simple way of paying back to the charity. If they have we should market it.

Yes, you can find CLL Support as CLLSA on Amazon Smile. I'm not sure if it appears if you shop in another country.

I reside in the U.S. Unfortunately I was unable to find "CLLSA" or "CLL Support" anywhere.

PayPal: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Foundation, based in Houston, Texas

Amazon Smile: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Foundation, based in Houston, Texas as well as CLL Society, based in Chula Vista, CA.

CharityNavigator.org and Guidestar.org have the same CLL Society mentioned above (CLLSociety.org)

Thanks for that feedback 34Nan. I can't find CLLSA under Amazon Smile in Australia either, so I expect the Amazon Smile registration is country based.

I've not heard of the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Foundation, so I suggest you support CLL Society and their free expert access program.

Very good idea, but first I will wait a day for a response from CLL Support--I sent an email query just now.

I expect pkguk2 , the CLL Support board trustee and HU Partner (manages liaison between the CLL Support (CLLSA) charity and HealthUnlocked), will get back to you. :)

Received the following link from "Cherry" at CLL Support, which worked easily. I used a credit card.

Yes they have Phartyharty. Details are in the latest newsletter if you’re a member;

Don't forget! Here are two other way you can help:This is another relatively painless way you can help. Nearly all major supermarkets and stores operate this scheme, which again works by them donating various amounts to your chosen charity for everyday purchases. Note that our official registered Charity title is: Chronic Lymphocytic Support Association (CLLSA), and you will need to use this title to register. Happy spending!

Amazon Smile is just like the usual Amazon site, same products, same prices. The difference is that if you sign up, CLL Support receives a small percentage of the cost of anything you buy - at no cost to you! It really is that simple! Give it a try!
