Dear lovely people

I usually like to respond to each reply I get on health unlocked. However I have been overwhelmed by the number of best wishes I have received, so please forgive me that I don't reply individually. I am so grateful for you all.

Having tried to learn as much as I can about CLL I am now on a different journey to learn about Hodgkins transformation. I will of course share anything I learn with this wonderful group.

My husband has had a tough weekend after his ABVD chemo on Friday. We are seeing his consultant this afternoon and may learn a bit more.

Best wishes to you all and many thanks

Beryl

please don’t worry about always responding as we are very much in your corner and would much rather you just take care of things as well as yourself!!! Just a blanket update when you have a minute and forget the replies, please!!!

Beryl, as a patient who has CLL and has gone through Chemo my advise is just hang in there. I went through 2 three day chemo treatments and its not easy for the caregiver or the patient but I can tell you it worked for me and took my white blood cell count back down to the a normal stage. God is on your side.

Hi Beryl, my partner found out he had CLL just months before finding out he has non-hodgekins, at the beginning of 2022. The specifics are a bit different to your husband, we're also in South East England though. Happy to answer any questions I can. My partner is 36 and recently completed his chemo. He's now waiting for a stem cell transplant.

Many thanks for responding. Gosh, what a lot you have had to manage. Which hospital do you got to (please direct message the answer to that if you prefer). My husband is in Eastbourne. They are brilliant and the haematologists are very well connected to Kings and to other research based university hospitals so we are confident he is getting the best treatment.

We're also in Eastbourne and his transplant is being done at King's. I agree, the team in Eastbourne has been very accommodating. My partner was really unwell when he first went into hospital, but they got everything started as quickly as possible and he has been really well supported and informed along the way.

I hope everything goes smoothly for your husband. They are pretty good with supporting meds, so whatever issues your husband is having with chemo, do ask the specialist nurse or anyone on the day unit or ward. Your husband shouldn't have too much discomfort beyond just feeling tired. It took some trial and error, but by the last cycle(of 4), we had a solution for each issue that arose.

I hope your appointment is informative and gives you some reassurance.
