Possible infection

Hi All, regarding my recent painful neck lump, I am waiting on an Ultra Sound and possible biopsy. I have been feeling exhausted, listless, and nauseous lately. I was given to believe that the lump could be a sign of an infection, and that a blood test would determine that. I am wondering if I should see my GP and ask for such a test, as I am anxious to start on a course of antibotics, if that is what is needed. I would appreciate any views on this. Regards Ron.

If you think you might have an infection, IMO it's always better to see a doc sooner for a CBC with differential, instead of waiting. It's harder for us to clear infections, so the sooner we get at them the better.

Exhausted, listless, nauseous - low hemoglobin levels could demonstrate like this. I would definitely go for a blood check.

Thanks Leo Pa, I saw my GP yesterday, and he did'nt sugget blood tests, or anti biotics, I am having an Ultra Sound on the new lump, and my neck in general, with posible biopsy, on Thursday, after which I will request a full bloods from my GP, and notify my CLL man as well.
