I had my Covid antibodies test done at University of Chicago yesterday and the results came back Positive and a reading of 28.8 U/ ml . Does anyone know what that number means. I’m seeing my Doctor next week. I had three Pfizer vaccines.

Antibody test
Hi Budd77,
-
We can give you lots of links to expert doctors saying they don't know how to interpret the antibody test.
-
The consensus is that getting a measurable response is better than none, but no one has been able to correlate a specific number to a identifiable level of resistance to the disease.
-
The general thought is that some antibodies will reduce the risk of hospitalization, less risk of ICU or ventilator and thereby reduce the risk of death.

A key point to remember is that antibodies are only part of the immune system. I am severely immunocompromised as I was diagnosed at Stage 4 CLL 14 months ago. I have had 4 jabs and 3 covid infections.... Still no antibodies. Only treated as a precaution on my second (delta) infection at day 10. So although antibodies are important they don't give the whole picture
Wad diagnosed stage 4 , 14 months ago went straight to Obinatuzamab and Ibrutinib, now on daily acalabrutinib
