Hi all. Has everyone experienced about LDH? My numbers goes up. Wbc is 126000 and Rbc 3.32
Hgb 10.9 plt 135000 but LDH iz 920. According to lab the LDH must be in range 200-450.my ldh goes up monthly about 100. I will appreciate if anyone has experience or information about this. Thank you for yours help.
I am not medically trained, so you doctor would be the best source of information on what he is investigating as possible causes for your LDH increasing.

As indicated in the links above the increasing LDH means that somewhere many of your cells are being damaged or killed. If you were getting treatment for CLL, this would probably mean that CLL white blood cells are dying. If you were involved in strenuous exercise they could be muscle cells, or if you had severe heart problems it could be signs of damage there.
-
As each of us progress to needing treatment the doctors will closely watch the signs that our red blood cells and platelets are decreasing, usually caused by the bone marrow being crowded with CLL cells.
-
From what I read from other members, as your CLL progresses, there is potential for some auto immune complications that can attack either your platelets (ITP - Immune thrombocytopenia mayoclinic.org/diseases-con... or your red blood cells ( AIHA Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/aut... ).
-
So the biopsy your doctor mentioned could be a bone marrow biopsy, to see the % of your marrow is blocked, and treatment for CLL should be started, or if ITP or AIHA is suspected then a slightly different type of treatment may be required.

Please ask your doctor.

Here's a link to a Patient Power general explanation of LDH in CLL. Patient Power has a lot of information that's not "medical speak", so that non-medical people can understand the various topics.
