Booster reaction

CLL stage 0. Received booster Piszer 10/26 and 1 week later developed aches/low grade fever, night sweats. Called office and was told I have a good immune system and probably a reaction to booster. I just wish it would pass and I would feel better after 2weeks of symptoms. Anyone else experience booster reaction.

Hi there,

I see this is your first post although you’ve been a member for some time so a belated welcome to you sewing1951

It seems a little odd that this reaction, if it was one, was a week after your booster dose and that it’s still ongoing 2 weeks later. If it your symptoms don’t resolve soon then please speak to your doctor again about it.

It sounds miserable for you and I hope you’re better soon.

Hi I received my Pfizer booster in September and cannot recall the exact timing but I have been having severe joint pain in my fingers and toes and hair shedding. It seems to have awaken some autoimmune issues in me. I did not have any fever following the booster. Hope you feel better soon!

I had had a different response to my third Pfizer dose: red, hot rashy just below the injection site developed after a few days, then swollen achy lymph nodes under the injected arm (I have SLL so my lymph nodes are pretty reactive). My first 2 doses were much milder: just a slightly sore arm for a couple of days. In my case the more pronounced reaction to third dose seems to have been a good thing: antibodies went from 2.2 U to 1,985 U. My third dose reaction faded slowly over a period of a couple of weeks. Hope yours is fading steadily, if not, maybe check in with your doctor again.🙂

I didn’t have Pfizer or a booster - I’m in the U.K. I had a full dose of Moderna around 6weeks after having Covid which in my case was a fairly standard chest-infection-hospital-stay. The aftermath of the 3rd vaccine (on an illness measure ) was it felt worse than having Covid - which is ironic.

I think I read somewhere there was study that showed vaccine after having had covid caused bad reactions because you are pre primed. But data says you’ll have better protection that just covid or just vaccine but I’m afraid I can’t refund study to print link

Like you I’m CLL stage 0 too and decided to get the Phizer booster day before Thanksgiving due to sudden re-surging covid cases (where we live) and the recent word of the “nu” variant on the horizon. So filling the ole quiver with another covid fighting arrow (booster vaccine shot) my doc recommended.

Reactions so far were: a very sore shot arm first night, then Thanksgiving day arm was ok but body was on a downside. Last nite had the night sweats (fever?), now it’s 2nd day after, hanging in ok, no complaints except I ate too much Thanksgiving pie! But .. seeing the grandgirls was the best … put the shot side-affects out of my mind seeing their smiling selves and gathering with family again, :) .

Your long week worth of symptoms seems a-bit odd. Hope it resolves soon and your back to being 100%!

I had lo level fever for about 48 hours, body aches and very tired for the duration. On the third day I was feeling back to normal. The soreness in the arm lasted for about 5 days. I had the Pfizer 1st and 2nd shot in February and the Pfizer booster the second week of November.

Morning! I'm stage 1. Got booster and had swollen lymph on the same side as the shot which is the same that happened with my second dose. Reactions have been said to be positively interpreted that your immune system is working. My lymph are still swollen and last time it took almost 8 weeks for them to return to my new normal which is slightly swollen. I'd definitely go see my Dr if the night sweats persist. I hope you're feeling better now. Happy holidays.
