Dear CLL Support Healthunlocked (HU) Readers,

Now, hopefully we are all logged in.

.

This post aims to be a contents page relating to Shingles posts, and what as CLL patients we should do about it.

N.B. This post itself is unlocked, so it is visible from the internet to give anyone out there a starting point. For the following posts listed below, unless indicated otherwise below, those posts are generally locked, so you must log in to read and comment. I hope people will do so to add their experiences, either by reply to those posts, or by a new standalone post, and in that way help others improve their understanding of Shingles, and what as a CLL patient to do about it.

.

Here’s the posts:

CLL Patients: What is Shingles?

The Need for Speed: Use of Antivirals for Shingles, both Prophylactically and Post Diagnosis, Also Antibiotics for Bacteriological Infection

Shingles is serious – Shingrix (non-live vaccine) is recommended for CLLers, NOT the live vaccine Zostavax

And some patient experiences, and useful commentary:

• @lankisterguy “Shingrix OK For Immunocompromised Adults” reproduced from groups.io/g/CLLSLL the following comments from Dr Richard Furman:

Note that post is unlocked, so replies to that one will be visible from the internet.

.

• @Richardmint “Should I Take the Shingrix Vaccine”

Note in this post by Richard, the reply from @lankisterguy where he describes his experience of Shingrix, Antivirals, and the experiences of others getting Shingles. Please let the following link load, then you may possibly need to scroll down a touch to see Len’s (@lankisterguy) reply:

I Liked Richard’s final comment that Len had promoted - “It does appear that the ‘belt and braces’ approach might well be the sensible route forward for me.”
