Side effects of Booster for CLL'rs

Hi All, I had my booster, two and a half weeks ago, I had the usual sore and swollen arm, then back to normal. I had my firsf face to face, Bloods, and Lump, check up, in 18 months, with my new Haemotologist. five days ago,

All was normal, no cause for concern. Three days later, I had a Physiotherapist, check up, and she found a large lump under my left armpit. I cannot remember if my Haemotologist, checked under there, but he did give me a good feel everywhere else, and said that the half dozen or so lumps that were there originally, were still there, but had not grown. I also forgot to ask for my Bloods to be checked, and he seems to have been satisfied with my last Bloods, which had been taken in May 2021.

I was therefore surprised to be alerted to this particular lump, soft, and half the size of a golf ball. I immediately called my GP,a nd was booked in for an appointment on Tuedsday, (As usual,) I had found this out on a Friday, so could not be seen sooner.

The receptionist, did ask me if I had, had my Booster, and informed me that many patients had reported similar lumps, and that her view was that it was a fairly common side effect of the Booster Jab.

Has anyone had a similar Booster Jab related Lump, on the under arm, of the arm jabbed? I am as usual, worried, and am expecting the worst, as is my want. And I won't be happy until I see my GP on Tuesday. I will also ask, about the need for a more recent Blood'. Will keep you update on this, as it may be pertinent, to some of you. All the best,Ron

I have had much worse lumps under my left armpit after the second and third Moderna shots. Both times, the lumps grew to 9 cm in diameter and hurt a bit. The first time it took about 7 months to recede to <2 cm. This time, it peaked about Day 6 and is now receding slowly. After my first time, my oncologist noticed and suggested that I begin treatment because of the node size (I was on W&W). I am still on W&W but I may start treatment soon.

Hi Ron, I had a new swollen lymph node in my armpit in the same arm which received the third jab (Pfizer) 7 days after vaccination. Also the same arm itched like mad for a few days after day 7. Both the swelling and itching disappeared after about a week. I had my antibodies checked 2 weeks after the third jab and was very pleased to find out that I had almost 700 antibody units per ml. So hopefully you will experience a similar positive antibody effect. After my second jab I had 5 antibody units per ml. Best wishes, John

Large node in neck opposite side to injection. Contacted Haemo Nurse who said said this is common. Advised to wait 1-2 weeks before flu jab.

Funny to read this - I have the same thing - have booked to see the dentist as I thought it was tooth related - I'll just wait a bit now. In fact today it is already less noticeable.

I had the same experience. As a runner, the 'blob' bounced around for some days when I went out running. It lasted a good week, is better now but still hiding under the armpit as a painful small lump. Exercise definitely clears the nodes out.

Yes! Much stronger reaction after 3rd dose of Pfizer. Big golf ball sized node under the arm where I was injected. Sore too. Developed a hot itchy patch just below the injection site. Now, it is 3 weeks later and mostly resolved: no soreness, no itchy hot patch. Maybe the node is still a bit enlarged but MUCH smaller.🙂
