There is evidence now that one can achieve a greater immune response by receiving the second jab after 3 months and that this approach might make a third booster unnecessary. We are in one grand experiment after all so expect evolving advice.
As far as vaccinations for children and for boys in particular, I just heard an infectious disease physician from John’s Hopkins say that the hospitalizations of boys for myocarditis is six times that of their hospitalizations for COVID. So to mandate this group be vaccinated is imprudent. By the way, this same doctor also said that he himself received his second jab after 3 months and has experienced a strong and so far comparatively durable response.

Except in the U.K. the vast majority of vaccinations were done 12 weeks apart and CLL patients, especially those on Ibrutinib or Acalabrutinib or with low iG levels have shown to have little or no antibodies. As shown by the Birmingham study.Colette
So while a delay in the second jab may be of benefit to the general population, you are saying the experience in The UK indicates that this is. It so for the immune compromised. That’s unfortunate but valuable information.
Mine was actually a 9 week gap and the doctor from Birmingham that interviewed me was interested in that. Sadly because it is such a big study they are not giving out individual data. I was surprised at the information they requested about treatment what and when, various vaccines and again when. They are now studying before and after 3rd vaccine.Colette
It appears that the un peer reviewed article your friend is quoting is being questioned for its accuracy. See: politifact.com/article/2021...

Could you please edit your posting and remove the challenged statement: "the hospitalizations of boys for myocarditis is six times that of their hospitalizations for COVID" until we have more reliable data or a peer reviewed publication.
SNIP During March 2020–January 2021, patients with COVID-19 had nearly 16 times the risk for myocarditis compared with patients who did not have COVID-19, and risk varied by sex and age.
Luap001, there have been valid concerns about that myocardiac risk in boys preprint per the references Len has provided. Even before the other concerns raised in the politifact reference, the VAERS site explicitly warns about using unvalidated data from that database in this manner.
