I am participating in the LLS vaccine response study. I have CLL and I am taking Acalabrutinib. One month after my second Pfizer vaccine shot, on April 20th I had a blood test to see if I produced antibodies. The result was .48, negative. Last Friday, August 20th, I had another blood test prior to receiving the booster shot. This test, five months after my second Pfizer shot showed 1.2, positive antibodies.
Did anybody else experienced this? I thought antibodies suppose to decrease with the passage of time. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

But I would expect that a laboratory scientist like Dr. Susan LeClair would look at the data and say that the difference is insignificant. In a test with a range from 0.9 to 250 or 2500, your two numbers are within normal variation of results.

Whether the results will decline in a short period like 5 months or whether your body took longer than 4 weeks to reach the maximum result of vaccination would be another unknown.

I submit that the science and data involved is far less precise than you are expecting.
Thank you Len, for your thoughtful reply. I realize that the improvement in the numbers is insignificant. Yet it is comforting to see it on the positive side, however slightly. I am curious to see what the results will be after the booster. Thank you again, Zsuzsi
