I live in the US and I received the Pfizer vaccine first shot today. I am hoping for no serious side effects. They have scheduled my second shot for May 3rd. I appreciate everything that is shared. I have not started any treatment.

Both my wife and I received the first Pfizer shot a week ago. We’re both in our early 70’s. I have cll and she does not. Neither of us have had any side effects.

By the way, in Canada, the time between shots for all vaccines has been extended to 16 weeks (without clinical support) because of vaccine shortages. The good news, at least for people in Ontario, is that the government has just made an exception for people under active treatment for blood cancers - they can get the second shot in 21-28 days.

Because this exception is not automatic, if you live in Ontario and are not w & w, contact your physician for written proof that you are in this category and request an earlier second vaccine from the local health authority.

Hi, I am in the US as well. I was diagnosed in February and I’m 62 years old. I have had both of the Pfizer vaccines and did not have any reaction whatsoever. I’m going for an antibody test on the 19th and feeling optimistic. I’m also on watch and wait.

I also am in the US and am on watch and wait. I just received my 2nd Moderna vaccine 3 days ago and had a moderate reaction. My oncologist does not feel that antibody testing post Covid- 19 vaccination is necessary, but I would like to know. How can I get this test ordered?

My doctor just ordered the blood work . I know the test isn't perfect, but I would still feel a bit safer knowing the vaccine did its job !

Thanks much! That’s how I feel. I’d like to know if I have some response or not.

Best wishes to you!

Live in California and i had first shot 3/20 go back next week for 2nd shot. i had bad headache, low grade fever, slight swelling of Lymh in neck and arm and tiredness 36 hours after shot. Gone after another day or 2. Its like anything else some do better some do worse. A 35 yr old co-worker of mine got sick from 2nd shot but was fine with first one.

I had the vaccine with swollen lymph nodes in my neck and had to go to the emergency room……I didn’t go back for my second vaccine…I wish I did tho!

I had the two Pfizer: No negative reaction. Second arm hurt one day due to nurse pushing into arm.

I’m the same as you. CLL with no current treatment. I had 2 Pfizer shots with no side effects other than a sore arm and a bit of mild tiredness following the second. Hope you take it as well as I did. Good luck
