To boost or not to boost
CDC recommends no other vaccines two weeks before, or two weeks after covid vaccine. That is for individuals with intact immune system. I will be waiting a month to get my flu vaccine, after I get my covid booster.
Thank you for your comments. I tried to find the two-week interval recommendation from the CDC website without success. Instead, I found it is ok to administer two vaccines together without consideration of timing. " You may administer COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines without regard to timing. This includes simultaneous administration of COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines (including live, attenuated vaccines such as the measles-mumps-rubella [MMR] vaccine) on the same day, as well as coadministration at any time interval. It is unknown whether reactogenicity of COVID-19 vaccine is increased with coadministration, including with other vaccines known to be more reactogenic, such as adjuvanted vaccines or live vaccines.
When deciding whether to coadminister another vaccine(s) with COVID-19 vaccine, consider:
Whether the patient is behind or at risk of becoming behind on recommended vaccines
The patient’s risk of vaccine-preventable disease (e.g., during an outbreak or occupational exposures)
The reactogenicity profile of the vaccines

Interesting, I cannot find it now but it was on the recommendations. Considering either vaccine probably will not do much for me, I will be separating them by at least four weeks.
The efficacy of the vaccine for us seems to be all over the map. I was diagnosed 7 years ago(probably had it for 9 based on old CBC tests) with deletion 13 q with all other markers favorable. Currently, my IgG is 335(last year 425). The second Moderna dose was administered 6 months ago. A recent COVID antibody test revealed 7.0 u/ml, anything above .8u/ml is positive. As my IgG levels are by some standards along with associated repeat infections-which I’ve not experienced- are worthy of IgG infusions, I have had a robust vaccine response. Go figure. Whether I should have a booster is unclear. I’ve yet to ask my cll specialist, Dr. John Byrd, but soon will be.
I took my Moderna booster vaccine and Flu Shot (Fluad) at the same time. One in one arm and one in the other.
I would separate them anyway, just due to the possibility side effects. My friend tried to get a booster last week and pharmacist said he had to wait because he had just gotten a flu shot the week before.
Heard a lot of feedback from people who got the flu and covid vaccine at the same time with bad results. Just to be safe, I waited 2 weeks between shots and it worked for me.
