It would be great if everyone with a weakened immune system could receive ready-made antibodies to Covid by injection and be protected for 12 months, as Astrazeneca's AZD7442 aims to do.
In the UK, the PROVENT clinical trial is well advanced, but now there's a question mark over the government's commitment to buying the drug, even if trial results confirm it works and is safe. See discussion on healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
The US government backed AZD7442 by funding clinical trials. The UK government would have to fund the drug's take-up by the National Health Service. There's a lot riding on this for UK CLLers.
