Access to Monoclonal Antibody Treatment in Mexico

I have CLL and in W&W. Age 65, otherwise healthy. No antibodies after first 2 Pfizers, positive for antibodies after third shot. Will be travelling to Mexico for three months and I wonder if anybody knows if monoclonal antibody treatment is available in Merida or Cancun if I contract COVID?

I maybe there at some point next year and this is a question I am interested in too. Feel it is probably unlikely but perhaps proximity to USA and frequency of American visitors might mean it becomes available soon.

Given how expensive these are... In case you find a private hospital source and able to pay cash, then maybe. Other than that a quick trip back to home comes to mind as a plan B.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, flying back to Canada (or into the US) would not be an option as I would have to have a negative COVID test prior to flying.

Yes, all three of my vaccines were Pfizer.

There is an U.S. Consulate in Merida which serves the Cancun area. I would call them and get information. You might also call a consuulate of Canada. Cancun probably has several well qualified clinics. Medical services in Mexico's "ex-pat communities" get high marks. Lets us all know what you learned. In Mexico over 80% have at least one covid vaccination. In Mexico City 93% got some covid vaccination. 304,000 medial and public personnel , including from military and police were trained and activated to provide the shots. In contrast to the U.S. and Europe, there has been no protest or rejection of vaccination in Mexico. My guess: The vaccines come from U.S., Russia, and China, therefore "they got to be good !"

Many thousands of solvent U.S. Americans lived retired in Mexico. But in certain municipalities where the locals keep good security. Now however is not the age to rove around for adventure. Stay close to your hotel and in areas which appear secure, plus be alert about anything that arouses your instinct. I wish I would not have to write that about Mexico, which continues to be a magical country with congenial people. See the music videos: MARIACHI VARGAS LA BIKINA. FILARMONICA and TE PRESUMO and ESPERANZA AZTECA DANZON NO 2 . Mexico has much more then beaches ! "Danzon No. 2" by Mexican composer Arturo Marques is on the philharmonic repetoire around the world.

My husband and I have spent 2-3 months every winter in Mexico for the past 25 years (except last year, of course), mainly on the Yucatan. This year we will be staying in Chixculub Puerto. Planning to go away feels strange, and a bit leery of COVID breakthrough infections, but I think I will brave it. We love Mexico and the people. And of course love leaving our cold Alberta winters behind.

With most Mexicans vaccinated and all wearing masks, the danger is less in then in the U.S. . See the videos: PLACIDO DOMINGO ARMANDO MANZANERO MIA and PLACIDO DOMINGO ARMANDO MANZANERO ADORO. Concert at CHICHEN ITZA Maya tempel in Yucatan. Manzanero, a Yucatan Maya sings "Adoro" in Maya language. CHCHEN ITZA is open again for visitors: Masks requiered and temperature check. Manzanero composed several classics sung by Sinatra and Elvis. Chixculub - a Maya word, sounds right and not too crowded. I took a look in the internet: Chixculub looks reasonably safe with mature visitors. You got the beach - what else do you need ? You can send somebody to buy your groceries. Otherwise limit you social life.
