Awe being impatient is making it hard to rest even though I'm on day for of Paxlovid for my first bout of Covid and feel exhausted, like before I finished my V+O for relapsed CLL.
Since stopping Ven mid Aug I've had a few reprieves of feeling great between a case of Influenza A and now Covid.
Instead of getting Covid vac 2 weeks ago I chose RSV vacc cuz I figured Covid would be easier to treat.
So I'm guessing I wasted some T cell function on the RSV vacc leaving less for my current Covid. And as of 6 weeks ago had no normal or any B cells to make antibodies.
I in error thought I'd feel a lot better after day 2 or 3 with Paxlovid.
Any suggestions or ideas
Thx

Awww sorry to hear you are ill. You may still have some T cell function from earlier vaccines, since our treatments generally don't affect those . I am guessing you used up energy reserves during the bout of influenza & thus have fewer for this new illness. Hang in there Hopefully you will feel better soon! Try to rest & I hope you have something beautiful to look at/listen to.
Sorry you're in this jam. The basics cannot hurt plenty of rest, hydration, electrolytes, and fresh air(open a window, no pushing through the mountains eh?) be alert for high fevers don't ignore them with Tylenol get in touch with a doctor.
It's so startling to get a positive Covid test result! Especially since you have been able to avoid it so far. How many days have you been on Paxlovid, now? (I know you meant to write it but the number is missing, maybe got edited out? ) I have had Covid twice, and each time Paxlovid helped me with the sore throat and body aches and exhaustion. It took a day or three, I forget, it wasn't immediate but it was wonderful. Give it a little time, be sure to drink plenty of water. It is good for you and helps with the awful taste.
Hang in there, and take good care of yourself! I hope you get well soon, and that you can find a way to relax and have something nourishing like chicken soup and watch something funny or listen to some nice music or read. Remember that lying around resting and being good to yourself actually is doing something! Something very important. I hope you start to find it easier to rest.
Hi there.I think that by taking plenty of rest, although very boring 😔 and by optimising your fluid intake you can really help your immune system function at it's optimal level in aiding recovery.Wishing you all the best and hope you get better soon.🥰👍
Anecdotal only but husband and I both got Influenza A after a cruise 3 months ago. I started taking l lysine right away when I first started feeling a bit off. I never got really sick, just very tired and a bad headache, not even a cough, and by the third day a 99 degree fever. By day 5 I was totally back to normal but husband started getting sick and ended up in the hospital for a week after the influenza A had turned into pneumonia. Now I don't have CLL but I did have endometrial cancer 2-1/2 years ago and I am now 75. So I do think the l-lysine did help. I researched it during the height of covid when I listened to so many experts I believe his name was Roger Sehault MD or something like that. So I believe it helps viral illnesses. I don't think it could hurt. Also quercetin was another supplement mentioned. Hope you feel better soon. Neither of us has had covid but influenza A knocked my husband out and he almost died so if you survived that you will get through this.
So happy you made it through. They coded him the first morning he was in because he could not breathe at all. The night before when I left he was doing well but deteriorated so fast, just short of being intubated. Influenza A is no joke for someone immunocompromised. Since then every doctor we see says he was lucky to have made it. He had the flu shot too so who knows? I never had one.
I tested positive for Covid last Friday after coming back from Italy. Still in treatment, second year of Venetoclax. Had three days of fever between 101 and 102. Fourth day my temp was around 100. Did manage to get out and do a walk that day. By Wednesday was feeling fine, it’s now Saturday and I am back to normal albeit still a bit tired but I managed to do my 10,000 steps a day this week. Did not have paxlovid. Hope you will feel better soon.
Did you take Paxlovid? And have you been on treatment?
My theory based on experience over past 10 months was that untreatable viruses lead to post viral syndrome or symptoms you described for 6 weeks, while treatable ones did not.
I got adeno virus (common cold) 10 months ago while on Ven. Cough and congestion lasted 4 days, fatigue and aches another 6 weeks.
2-3 weeks later I got entero virus and same 6-8 weeks of symptoms followed by 2 secondary bacterial infections.
I've had influenza while on Ven and got right on Tamiflu and the fatigue lasted only 2-3 weeks.
I got influenza 2 months later just off Ven and started Tamiflu asap. Fatigue and aches lasted 7-10 days.
I'm now on day 10 of Paxlovid, day 11 of Covid symptoms and still quite fatigued, with nausea and left sided head pressure. I hope it doesn't last too much longer because of the antiviral !
