No detectable antibodies to 2nd Pfizer Covid vaccine.

This is a follow up to a previous post. My twin sister got a disappointing lab result today from LabCorp’s SARS Cov-2 Semi Quantitative Total Antibody - Spike Test: 164090. (Lab report result attached) There were no detectable antibodies. She waited two weeks post 2nd jab before getting the antibody test. Her score was <.4 and to be positive for antibodies you need >.79.

She takes a daily low dose of Ibrutinib and 6 months ago she finished a 6 month treatment of prednisone (for a few weeks) and Rituximab for her CLL complication of AIHA. I read that it takes 6 months post last treatment for your immune system to begin to return to normal and a year post last treatment to get your immune system back to where it was prior to treatment.

We are trying to find tests that measure the T cell response to the vaccine to see if she has any protection at all. Still hunting for this test. If anyone knows of a good one, please let us know

I’ll continue to post as I get more info.

Stay healthy! Be safe!

Sorry about the poor results of the spike test. She may or may not still have protection. As a strong backup, consider a Plan B just in case she were to contract covid.

First sign of any symptom get a covid test and pursue clonal antibody treatment from regeneron or other company. You can contact the website Combat Covid. They have a hotline number so you can find a hospital near you that stocks clonal antibodies. They can electronically transmit that she is eligable to the hospital, then have your gp or oncologist refer you to the infusion center at the hospital as an outpatient treatment.

Another option if you have symptoms. Go to the hospital emergency department that stocks clonal antibodies and they will infuse high risk individuals right in emergency as an inpatient. No need for a outside referral from anyone. Emergency will handle it all.

Thank you. Hopefully we’ll never need it. :-)

I wonder if she waited long enough for the test. I also signed up for the LLS study through Labcorp, but my instructions said to wait 4 weeks after the 2nd shot. I go in today for my blood draw and will post when I get results. I have been on Ibrutinib for 4 years, so will be interesting to see if anything shows up.
