Antibody results just said “yes,” not level

Last week I had an antibody test at my dermatologist’s (who has a vested interest in CLL) to see if my January and February Moderna jab produced antibodies. My impression was that this blood test would be “quantitative” rather than “qualitative,” meaning that it would at least give a general idea of the level of antibodies (poor, good, etc). But I got a call with the results, and all the results showed was that I did have antibodies, without any number information. Have any of you had an antibody test that shows the level, rather than just the presence of antibodies? Many thanks, Irene in Atlanta

Mine said Negative...Zero made! They ran it twice...the second was a carbon copy of the first.

I had both tests. The first was SARS-CoV-2 Antibody, IgG

requested by my CLL specialist 2 weeks following my second Pfizer dose and results were "positive" for antibodies. Like your test there were no details.

I had a second test through LLS, which was the SARS-CoV-2 Semi-Quant Total Ab exactly 4 weeks later which showed a loss of my antibodies at < 0.40, so now negative.

There are 2 tests. One is Qualitative. .it just gives negative or positive. Ask for the Quantative ..that gives you exact number. Both Quest & Labcorp do it. Different test codes but have same CPT codes.

My spike protein lab work for Covid vaccine just came back at a value of 213, above normal. I was expecting nothing or very low, so I guess I should be pleased.

I had one done (in the UK) and it just said 'yes' which was annoying as that could mean just 5%. This was after I had Covid and nearly died. So there was no way of knowing if I had enough antibodies. 6 months after that I was diagnosed with CLL and had another antibody test and it showed the percentage of antibodies as 70% . I was told at my first antibody test that if you pay more you can get a test that shows the percentages.

My 1st spike test 3 week after 1st Moderna showed 14.93. My 2nd spike test 3 weeks after 2nd Moderna showed >250. Quite surprised & I’ll take it!

I had Pfizer vaccines in Feb and had antibody test through LabCorp. They sent me the results which said positive and gave me a # 1318. I assumed this was a good # as they said over 0.8 was positive.
