Hi. It may be worth contacting your GP to ask the question. You may not be able to choose the Pfizer as i understand you get what you are given. Best wishes.

Contact your GP (UK) they invariably have spare at the end of a clinic.

Supply chain issues and nationalism are delaying vaccination programmes in many countries. We won't get more Pfizer vaccine until a deal is done with the EU.

UK government says under 50s will get Moderna, so they must be anticipating a big delivery.

I don't know why you would choose one approved vaccine over another?

I read that J&J is better against the new mutations. AZ doesn't protect against these.

Yes, if I were in South Africa or Brazil, the AZ vaccine would not be my first choice. But in the UK, where new infections are dominated by the B.1.1.7 variant, it's fine.

I had AZ, and was relieved because I had a concern about storage of Pfizer, in case the storage temperature hadn't stayed as low as it should have done for a small section of its journey. However, if I had been given Pfizer I would still have been ok about it.

I found this to be a very helpful tool. You plug in your zip code and it brings up the facilities in your area that have the vaccine. If you hover over the map locations it even tells you what vaccine they are administering. Good luck. Scheduling is different from state to state and county to county. Vaccine finder is a national site. vaccinefinder.org

The original poster in the UK so that site is no use to them.

Apologises just re read my reply and it comes across as a bit abrupt. This was not my intention. The site you highlighted would be useful for anyone in the US. 👍

I didn't take it as abrupt, but your apology made my day. Wishing you good health and much happiness CguLLer!

al444. In the UK you don’t have a choice of the vaccine. I would urge you to consider getting vaccinated. We don’t know how effective ANY vaccine is for us with CLL but surely it is better to get vaccinated with the hope it will give us some protection compared with the risk of what would happen if you get covid. Most CLL experts tell us the best vaccine is the first one we can get.

Around here (Southern California) you get the vaccine they have when you go in, then the same vaccine for your second jab. Monday I got my second Pfizer, but all first jabs were Moderna that day. Most doctors are telling patients to get whatever they can ASAP.
