Not what I would call flu-like. Just mild queasy, no fever, and lasted a 1 and 1/2 days.

AZ, first jab, very hot and shaking with cold at about 12hrs after jab. Went to bed, woke up next morning feeling fine, if a little drained, OK by lunchtime.

Moderna, mild aches ,big headache, arm pain for 3 days. I was sick for 5 days with the second dose. Fever, chills, body aches and awful headaches. I also had a itchy, burning rash on my sore injection arm. Hopefully it means that I have antibodies! I am signing up for the study.

Hi MichelleM61, I had AZ vaccine about 6 weeks ago now and had side effects for 3 days. The headaches probably the worst, aches, fever and lethargy. I do have fibromyalgia alongside cll so I'm quite sensitive to these type of things.Good luck with yours and it might help to think that these side effects will disappear(that helped me to deal with it) take care. Joanna.

On Watch and Wait, had my first Pfizer shot on Friday. That afternoon had chills, felt very tired. Woke up that night feeling sick to my stomach for about 6 hrs. with chills off and on. Arm very sore. The next day feeling better. A little anxious about the second shot in 21 days.

Had 2nd Moderna shot a week ago. No flu like side effects but I did have “Moderna arm” - red, swollen, and very itchy. I’ve taken benadryl and used cortisone cream and it’s finally starting to resolve.Kathy

I have had both Moderna shots. The second one caused me to feel a bit “off” for a couple of days. As for flu like symptoms, I cannot speak for any CLL’ers but I know of loads of people without CLL who had awful flu like symptoms from both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

CLL Wait & Watch....I had the first Pfizer shot and had fever, chills, body aches and pronounced weakness for days. This week I'll be getting the second Pfizer and am a bit apprehensive as I've heard the second shot has more exaggerated side effects, so I'm preparing for a week of "down time!" Wishing you well!

One AZ vaccine 12 hrs later felt ‘ fluey ‘ all the symptoms but no temperature, felt better after 3 days but was feeling generally ‘off’ for about a week.Hopefully will sail through the next one.

I just got my second shot yesterday. Other than feeling like my arm was punched and sleeping 3 hours more than usual, I feel fine. The person administering the shot told me it's very common to have a fever or chills (and she didn't know my previous condition). Of note, this time around, I stayed very hydrated and I was very active yesterday (16K steps). I expect this go around to be worse than the first, but it isn't. I think the activity did help. The only other thing I did was take Tylenol PM last night.

I'm not on Watch and wait, but just for the record, I was fine for the first 2 days after having the AstraZeneca jab, then had mild flu-type symptoms for almost a week. (Slight fevers, overall body aching, nausea, brain fog, exhaustion.)

Inconvenient but no regrets and I'm booked to have the second dose in late April.

Watch and wait, M69. Had the second Moderna shot on St Pat’s day. Totally exhausted on Thursday and slept almost the entire day. Friday was a little better but still extremely tired. Friday night the lymph nodes in my armpit and neck (near the injection site) became swollen and are quite uncomfortable. Sunday energy has returned but nodes are still a problem. Never had fever or headache. I’m continuing the Dr Jones recommended treatment of Jameson and sacred herb 🤫. This too shall pass.

I am watch and wait since 2005. Had the Pfizer vaccines. First shot just a sore arm. 2nd shot that evening my body ached, no fever. Little nauseous the next day and by 2nd evening all symptoms gone. However, 3 days later I got what they are calling Covid Arm. Woke up to my arm from elbow up beet red, itching and hot. This lasted about 3 days. The redness lasted about a week but the itching and hot arm was gone after 3 days. Still happy to have gotten the vaccines and feel a lot safer now. My husband had not symptoms other than a sore arm.

Treatment 5 years ago, back on watch & wait. Had 1st Moderna March 4th, sore arm for couple days. Second shot scheduled for April 1st. Signed up for the antibody study with LLS. Going for labs thru LLS tomorrow 3/23, guess they want after only 1st shot.🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Michelle! I am CLL stage 1 - w&w for 4 years now. I got the Moderna vaccine - the second shot on March 5th. First shot - nothing. Second shot I had a red patch on the arm but that was it. No flu symptoms at all - just itchy red arm that lasted 3 days. But when I had my flu shot last winter I had all the nasty flu symptoms for 2 days. All my Veteran friends are also reporting a lack of flu symptoms with the Pfeizer and Moderna brands. I think it depends on your personal body chemistry, though. And flu beats having Covid ANY day. Good luck, Dear. Be Well.

I’m watch and wait and had an awful reaction to my first vaccine. Fever, the shakes, nausea, fatigue and rash (hives) up my neck and all over my chest. Couldn’t get out of bed for a few days and was wiped out for over a week. But all the symptoms were on the leaflet, am hoping the second vaccine will be plain sailing!

Fatigue after the second shot. I just went to bed and didn't get up until it passed.

Age 72, CLL-diagnosed 3 months ago, no symptoms, W+W. Hardly any reaction to Pfizer vaccinations (either 1st or 2nd dose) - just mildly sore arm, and a bit of fatigue, perhaps head-ashiness. Exactly as I've experienced with yearly flu shots.

Yes, W+W, have had both Modernas. ALC is 65k and as of Oct 2020 IgG was 956. Sore arm and slight malaise after the first. Def. flu like sx's after the second, including temp between 101 and 101.7 for 2 days. Fever broke after taking 500 mg tylenol. Pretty much back to baseline by day 4 with the exception of swelling/tenderness in left axillary (armpit), the side of the injection. Swelling was about the size of an egg. Four days later swelling receded. Worth every minute of it if my immune system creates antibodies.

Not on W&W anymore (Imbruvica): Pfizer first shot - felt “feverish” and tired for about 5 days, arm sore - ok now after about a week
