IBRUTINIB AND HIP PAIN Continued-as I left out a few points (see first part IBRUTINIB AND HIP PAIN: As for stretching - besides stretching for as many times as needed during the day always stretch in one direction without bouncing and release the stretch slowly. This prevents a rebound of the muscle and fascia tightening up again. Jumping on a mini tramp or even just lifting the heels off as you bounce loosens up muscles and is good for the lymph system, which is good for CLL patients. Dry brushing also helps with moving lymph.

A heating pad really does help when you are sitting or laying down and for those that want to avoid EMFs a hot water bottle can also work. I also use a portable massager that has heat called a Resteck, which you can maneuver as needed for hip and back pain and other painful areas. I mentioned some supplements in my previous post, but forgot Proteolytic or Systemic Enzymes - not to be confused with digestive enzymes. These enzymes should not be taken with food so they can reduce inflammation and pain and have a beneficial effect on cancer as well. I found almost 30,000 studies in Medline on these enzymes, but check with your doctor. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?te... Making sure your adrenals are healthy, the adrenal cortex produces cortisone to lower inflammation and pain. A magnesium supplement call CALMS is a powdered magnesium, which is very bio-available and comes in many flavors. Good to take before bed to relax your muscles and for sleep. Magnesium baths are also relaxing to muscles. Also with supplements taking enough milligrams are needed for benefits - always check with your doctor, some supplements depending on your therapy may not be right. There are also herbal formulas that reduce the side effects of chemotherapy (Ibrutinib is different, smarter and more selective, etc., but still chemotherapy).

Strong stomach muscles help reduce strain on your back. Make sure your posture is good-if you are bent over then your back muscles have to strain to keep you upright. As with any of this information check with your doctor or other health care provider. There are also back supports by Copper Fit, Tommy Copper, and other companies which do relieve back pain.

I am so thankful the way this drug is working for me and for so many others that I think it is worth doing extra things to stay on it. I never thought a type of chemotherapy would give me such a good quality of life, I am just very grateful.
