Where am I?

Dear all,

In these times where geographic location is even more sensitive than normal (i.e. COVID vaccine availability) I am going to make an ask. Please consider putting your country or a bit more in your description or Id. I think this could be useful to us all in reducing confusion in discussions.

You can change your Id/username like I have (was oleboyredw - changed it to oleboyredw-uk a few years back to help.

Or you could just put it in the start of your description. The default “Hi, I’m xxxx” is pretty useless. If if you just put your country there it would be very useful, and somebody would only need to touch/click on your username in a post to see where you’re from.

In these days of different vaccines approved in different countries it could save some puzzled and confused questions.

best to all as ever, rob

Thanks Rob,

This is the link anyone can use to update their profile: support.healthunlocked.com/...

I would also recommend members seriously consider changing their username to something not identifiable with them for privacy reasons. HU only allows two changes, so choose wisely. This link explains how to do so:

support.healthunlocked.com/...

If it is relevant, I usually mention where I live in a post.

Even if I forget, the location is described - in rather more detail than 'UK' - in my profile, so anyone who is interested can check, if it matters to them - as far as I know.

Hi Rob,

Good to hear from you and hope all is well with you.

I tried the "UK" in my original name on HU to try to promote the idea, but it didn't seem to catch on, so for simplicity I dropped it when I fixed the rest of my name.

I am wondering though if the HU software engineers could add a feature to our profile to also select a thumbnail location picture. That could then display to RHS of our name on every post/reply. Perhaps allow people the option to create their own picture as well as from a standard pick list. Not sure what an anonymous picture selection would be . . . the planet? (Ideally still rotating. As one customer said to me many many years ago, in a friendly way, "If I can think it, you can program it". That has stuck in my mind ever since. Funny thing, he was I think, a CLL patient.)

Ooooops - I'm also from the UK.

Best wishes to all,

Ernest

Hi Ernest, Currently all good here thank you. Standing in my private virtual queue waiting for my call-up. Seems to be moving locally with my 92 year old mother getting callup yesterday for jab at the weekend.

best wishes, rob

Hi Rob,

That's good news. When things start moving, they get there.

Best wishes,

Ernest

Just checked and mine says UK as well.

Because I have been hanging around here for a long time I assume everyone knows who I am. I should remember back to when I was at art college and looking for someone to share my flat and I just put Colette on the notice, and was embarrassed when someone wrote underneath ‘ Who are you ‘ 🤔
