Ibrutinib is slow acting on your bone marrow, so be patient.
Ideally your specialist will want your neutrophil count maintained above 1.5 to reduce your risk of infection. Ask your haematologist if your blood test monitoring frequency is adequate, because neutrophil counts can drop fairly quickly with no symptoms (until you get ill). If needed, your neutrophil count can be quickly boosted by G-CSF injections, self administered into your skin over your stomach.
Platelet transfusions aren't needed until they are under 20 if you are ill and 10 otherwise. 89 is a safe count, though you might notice a bit easier bruising than usual, particularly on Ibrutinib.
I am so very thankful for your assistance in me bettering my IB Path. Its my first time to see that we are on the right pass. Really astonished about my little changes. I was even able to play 2 / 18 holes of golf on consecutive days, stamina has become better.
