I was diagnosed with MBL 18 months ago. The hospital discharged me a year ago and I have 3 monthly blood tests at my GP surgery. My Lymphocytes are stable at around 6.4 but found out yesterday that my serum adjusted calcium concentration levels have dropped below normal and monocytes are above normal. Total WBC is 12.9. Can anyone help with what this means? I’ve booked a GP appointment but it’s not until 3 March as the results said ‘satisfactory’ so I can’t be classed as an emergency! I find all the info terrifying and although my GP is very helpful, it’s extremely difficult to get past the receptionist to see him.

MBL
How high are your monocytes? They may just be higher due to an infection. I can't see how either symptom can be related to your stable MBL.
Your wait for an appointment is good news, as you have appreciated, but the uncertainty until then can of course be difficult to endure. Perhaps you could ask if you could be seen earlier if a cancellation opens up an opportunity?
Let us know how you go with your appointment.

Hi Neil
Thanks for your reply. My monocytes are 1.1 but I have no idea what is a little high and what is bad high. In myself I feel fitter than I have in years with minimal colds etc so it just seems really odd that I have this illness but feel so well! I know that’s a good thing but I struggle with the whole thing some days.
Hi Ashley, I would definitely see a Hematologist. I also have MBL and my bloods do fluctuate a bit and then back to normal so dont be too alarmed. My WBC hovers between 13 and 16.
