Imbruvica Bruising

As posted before, I have been on 240mg of Imbruvica for 10 weeks and most of the side effects are tolerable. However, lately I have been getting Bruises the size of Silver Dollars and they are sore. I have a little bump on each one. Question would be... do these ever go away with time. Second, what can I do to help eliminate them or keep them from being so big and sore.

Thanks Rosa

That's very interesting that you mention the 'bump' on each. I developed a spontaneous bruise 1 month ago on my thigh. It's just now fading. And it has a hard small bump in middle. I don't know what that is. Have not had bruises with bump in middle before. Wondered if it's a blood clot? (I'm on ibrutinib too - 280 mg/day)

My father is on ibrutinib and gets bloody bruises all over his body. It’s a very common side effect of the drug unfortunately.

Hi there, I've deleted your duplicate post so that all your replies can be in one place.

Sadly bruising is a common side effect with Ibrutinib and not necessarily because your platelets are low. It's one side effect that persists.

Not sure about the bump with them, always good to speak to your Dr and get some reassurance about those.

All the best

I used to get the bruising all the time and small cuts took longer to stop bleeding. It did lessen once my numbers got better.
