Imbruvica and elbow cyst

I have been on Imbruvica 25+ months. At midday today, I realized I have a golf ball sized bag of fluid on my left elbow. Have never had such a “cyst” before this time. Has anyone else experienced this? Perhaps no connection to Imbruvica. I do have an appointment with doctor early this evening.

Elbow bursitis is a thing. Aka "olecranon bursitis". I had it earlier this year from sitting propped on elbows at computer! Common affliction of plumbers and HVAC repair people because they work propped on their elbows. Also called "schoolboy elbow" for same reason. Mine was very painful and tender for 3 months. I just had to be super careful to not lean on that elbow at all.

P.S. I'm on ibrutinib, but I don't think this elbow thing was related to the ibrutinib at all. My computer posture changed so I could keep an ankle elevated after surgery. And then this elbow thing developed.

What Kim says is true. However, there are instances of infection setting up in bursitis, If your elbow is warm, tenderness, maybe redness, that may be the case.

I bring this up because of the impact on our immune systems being a major part of CLL and of treatment.

Do report your concern to your Dr., of course, because any treatment needs to be acceptable to the Ibrutinib or have Ib adjusted for another med. administration.

I had a cyst burst on the back of my knee on Sept. 15. I don't think the Imbruvica caused the cyst, but when it burst, the bleeding filled my entire knee area, and I was in excruciating pain. My oncologist had me stop taking Imbruvica immediately as bleeding problems like this is one of the side effects. In fact, in the Imbruvica ads, it is the first one listed. Please see your doctor before this cyst bursts. It has now been over a month and I still don't have full range motion in my knee. I am going to physical therapy twice a week for this, and it is getting better.
