About 5 short weeks ago I posted about my hubby being sidewhacked by RT for the 2nd time. His treatment using R-GDP was deemed best and he received 1 cycle. He had several bouts of confusion subsequently with a bleed in the brain as the likely culprit due to his low platelets. Alas, a head CT scan revealed several lesions. The aggressive lymphoma had spread! He now had DLBCL with CNS (central nervous system) involvement! R-GDP was stopped and palliative care commenced.
My dearest hubby passed away peacefully on 12/9/19.
The wonders of modern medicine advances over the last 20 years such as autologous stem cell transplants and Ibrutinib allowed us to have many more years than we expected. For this I am truly grateful and feel blessed.
I wish all the souls who have CLL the very best outcomes from whatever treatments you have and for all their loved ones be their rock but be kind to yourselves too.
I now am closing my time on this fantastic source of knowledge and support. Thank you for being there.

Thank you for letting us know your sad news. I'm sorry that you and your husband had to endure what, if we are honest, is a worry for all of us with CLL. CLL might be curable now for some of us and for many more of us shortly, but as you know treatment options for Richter’s transformation need a huge breakthrough. I admire your grace in accepting such challenging times not once but twice. Your husband was blessed to have you there for him.
I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a lucky man to have wonderful, supportive wife by his side. I hope the memory of good times with your husband brings you the strength to move you through this sad time in your life.🌼

Dear flying fats, this was a difficult post to read, but thank you for sharing it. It has made me consider the journey my husband will have as he supports me through my coming treatment and the times that will follow. Those of us who have partners like you are truely blessed and your post reminds me I have much to be grateful for. My hope is you are now supported in your time of need.

I'm so sorry to hear of your sad news. I'm sure that your husband felt very blessed to have such a caring wife by his side through those very tough years. Try to rest easy in knowing that he is no longer suffering.
This an all other cancers can be so cruel at times. My cousin who is only in his ealy 50's is sitting by his wifes side who is a few years younger than him waiting for her to pass. She has been through about 8 years of breast cancer hard times and it has now matasticized throughout her body and her doctors say there is nothing else they can do for her. I feel for you and or my cousin and his wife. These are sad times indeed.
