My sweet wife just had her checkup here in Houston after being on Ibrutinib and Venetoclax for 12 months. SHE IS CANCER FREE! They will keep her on the protocol for one more year & we will continue to come out here every 3 months for checkups. There is hope & God is good. Take one day at a time that’s all we can handle. We can’t change the past & tomorrow will be here & we can take care of it when it comes. May God Bless & heal each & every one of you.🙏🏽🙏

Fantastic!!! Wonderful news. Did she have side effects being on both medications?
Blessings to you and your wife as well! Always great to hear good news!
So good to hear good news ....So happy for you both!
Continued Good Health and continue to Enjoy regular life outside of all the medical stuff!!
Congratulations. Encouraging news for all of us (CLL patients)
May God bless her CLL free for rest of her life.
I to go to MDA. They are great. I see Dr. Wierda. But had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Keating and Dr. Thompson. All of them are wonderful. So glad to hear the success story. Keep the FAITH and STAY STRONG JR. 😊😊
She too sees Dr Wierda & has had the opportunity to meet Dr Keating but not Thompson. She is #5 of 20 of what she believes is the first study using I + V & she started 5/1/18. They said this time that they had not seen any cancer after our 10/18 visit also (we did not understand that before) so it’s doing exactly what they hoped it would. God is good all the time.
First- GOD IS DEFINITELY GOOD ALL THE TIME! As for Dr. Wierda. I will never change. He is my Captain. He not only saved me from treatment but the wrong treatment. Now for you and the wife. Great News. Not only this disease but many other diseases not only affects the patient but the caregivers as well. And news like this is a blessing for all involved. Keep the FAITH and STAY STRONG JR.😊😊
Great news! It must feel so good for both of you. Time to enjoy your lives to the fullest...

Fantastic news! Just a few questions ? What was her treatment regime and how old is she ?
Thanks for sharing
This all started in the spring of 2013 at 52 & her local Dr diagnosed her with CLL with 17p deletion & was told she had 2-4 years. Because I was a widow (my wife died of melanoma) & had previous association with MDA we were out there within two weeks of her diagnosis. They told her if she could hold off six months they had a trial starting with Ibrutinib & they thought it would last up to 3 to 5 years & they should have a cure by then. A little over 5 years after she began it started to fail. Then last year about this time is when they started her on the new trial of I + V. Praise God they are right again “they would have a cure”. Our prayers are with you & all other CLL patients & know that you are going to be just fine.
