Hello! My grandmother is 82 and was just diagnosed with marginal zone B cell lymphoma. She did not tolerate Rituxan so she is now taking Arzerra which, from what I can tell, is a CLL treatment. She had been fatigued and having bouts of nausea and vomiting along with lack of appetite and upon exam, had pain in spleen area. The Dr initially though pancreatitis but it was the spleen that was enlarged and lymph nodes on a CT scan. Lymph node biopsy from groin revealed the lymphoma. The fatigue is the main reason she wanted treatment. Unfortunately, she had too many infusion rxns to the Rituxan so they switched to Arzerra. She had some rxns to the first infusion and her next will be Monday. She will be admitted to get the infusion slowly due to her history of rxns. Just wondered if anyone else had had Arzerra for lymphoma rather than CLL.

Yoda,
We most likely do not have members treated for lymphoma. Azerra is a med. used in CLL, but not one of the most used--it is a second tier for CLL, when other medicines have failed. CLL is active in the blood; SLL is active in the lymph nodes, but has an almost identical gene/chromosome id to make the two considered the same in treatment terms.
Sorry, you have waited so long for a response and sorry to hear that your grandmother is having a very difficult time with treatment. Best wishes you and your grandmother as you faithfully seek to help her.
HU has other sites that deal with Lymphoma, two specifically. If you will use the Search Healthunlocked that appears beside your user pic/ on right hand top of screen, you can search for those sites.
Thank you for your reply.
