I’m somewhat confused as to why you’ve had painful, swollen nodes for two years, been seeing the doctor and had a scan but still have no clear diagnosis or suggested reason for your condition.
Have you seen a haematologist? Are your blood levels ok?
I’m afraid all I can suggest is to pursue this vigorously with your doctor and change him if he’s not helping.
I been doing blood work my blood work is up and down I had a cat scan many of them I been to ENT I been diease and infection also there sending me back to get more scan tommorow I did have a biopsy if the neck about year half ago a core they didn't see nothing I have had sore throat chronically and swollen tonsils I don't what to do my mom had the same thing and with aml also can't be in the sun but they don't why that is either yes I seem blood Dr.
Given that you have been diagnosed with leukemia, your lymphocytes are high, you have swollen painful nodes, your current doctors find no underlying influence, and the condition is a continued pattern that affects your quality of life:
Consider having a second oncologist who specializes in leukemia measure your disease and advise you regarding your rate of expected progression and future options for treatment.
The pain and discomfort from swollen nodes subsided for me a few days after I received treatment with Obinutuzumab/Gazyva. Within three weeks my nodes were measured normal by a CT scan.
I also had swollen lymph nodes in my neck that were very painful and restricting blood flow. Because of this, I had to receive treatment, and just like Smakwater, my swollen lymph nodes started decreasing with my first treatment (I received 6 monthly treatments of Bendamustine and Rituxan - "BR" for short). My diagnosis is CLL. If you want pain relief prior to treatment, you probably need something stronger than Tylenol or any other over the counter medicine. Ask your doctor for a prescription pain killer. However, this is just a very temporary situation. The swollen lymph nodes won't go away on their own if they are due to CLL and you will need to have some sort of treatment. It seems you do need some better guidance from your doctor and perhaps you need to see someone else. Best of luck.
Thank you for info they just did sonogram scan ony neck one now am waiting the report they said it would be ready 24 hours yet it been three days upon leaving leaving that they seen more swollen lynodes 36 on the right and 26 on the left ,I know I be going back biopsy soon that report comes I can't even turn my neck ,there not allowed to give you a lot of information but I've been with the girl for a long time and she just looked at me and said wow there's a lot of them she said we'll see what the radiologist thinks about him and that was 3 days ago and they told me you'll be ready in 24 hours but I haven't heard anything I have called
I am astonished that your medical professionals have been so unresponsive for an issue that seems to be causing you a great deal of difficulty. Are they speaking to you in your native language? If not, a translator might be helpful. If you get really desperate, you should seriously consider going to the Emergency Room (ER) to see if they can help you.
I forgot to say, I finished my BR treatment in September 2017 and have been in very good health since then, helped in part by monthly IVIG infusions. IVIG is Immunoglobulin G administered intravenously, and helps maintain my immune system.
