Can anyone tell me how long before I have a tooth filled I need to stop with Ibrutinib?

Ibrutinib and dental work
You should consult your Hem/Onc doctor, and ask the dentist about the risk of bleeding from the procedure.
Ibrutinib reduces one of the clotting factors on platelets, so any bleeding may take much longer to clot.
Many CLL expert doctors will advise a pause of Ibrutinib 5-7 days before and after major surgery, and approximately 3 days before and after a simple procedure with some limited bleeding risk like tooth extraction or minor surgery.
Whether a routine tooth filling has risk of bleeding is up to the medical professionals.

Has dentist talked to your hemaetologist ? Be certain to get an antibiotic prophylactic for ALL dental work... make certain you dentist knows you have CLL, that you are on treatment for it and your immune system is compromised. Don't assume they know anything about CLL.
I am not aware of a need to stop Imbruvica (ibrutinib) prior to dental work, extractions or surgery, probably yes ...
Talk to your CLL specialist. Where are your neutrophil and platelet counts?

Hello,
I know for extraction it is 3 days prior. I recently checked as my dentist was concerned about a deep filling where they put that horrible metal brace around the tooth and I took the 3grm powder Amoxicillin I hour before I went to the dentist.
Good luck

You and/or your dentist need to coordinate with your hem-onc but for me, I've had 2 surgical procedures since starting ibrutinib (colonoscopy-endoscopy and cysectomy) and my hem-onc had me stop ibrutinib 3 days prior and resume 1 day after.
Good advice above. As an example, after consultation I did not pause Ibrutinib for a simple filling but did for a week before and three days after for an extraction.
When I started imbruvica one year ago I got so sick I ended up in the hospital. So I'm wondering now I need a tooth extraction and to stop the imbruvica 3 days before and 3 days after I'm very concerned about will I get sick like that again when I restart the drug? I would really appreciate any comments that I could get from people experienced in this.
After a tooth is pulled and there's no bleeding the next day would I restart Ibrutinib?
