Bloods and examination and all Is good , bloods are near normal, no enlarged nodes , usual few side effects a little bit of petechiae diarrhoea a few mouth sores ,See my specialist again in 3 months , I was given my Ibrutinib pills ,and was also given some Co-Trimoxazole tablets which I have to take as part of the Flair Trial . Two twice daily on Saturday and Sunday only . Just wondered if anyone has been taking them also on the Flair Trial

Hi

I took them on the flair trial (FCR) twice a day Mon, Wednesday and Friday. They are a preventative Antibiotic, I am now about to start Ibrutinib and again will be given them but not sure of dosage yet , my understanding is its a supportive drug regularly given even with things like steroids as well so not uncommon. Good luck and look forward to sharing my experiences with Ibrutinib.

Hi cruddie I am on the FLAIR trial too on Ibrutinib and Rituximab arm. I have been prescriber Co-Trimoxazole a prophylactic antibiotic too. I take 2 three times a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My GP records showed an allergy to this drug in 1983 rash on back and trunk of body. My specialist said try again as it is a good drug and that was 35 years ago. I have and no allergic reactions this time. I hope this helps.

Good luck on the trial

Ann

I am on Flair - FCR in Summer 2016. I took Co-Tri and Acyclovir daily throughout chemo and afterwards until my blood work showed my immune system had returned to reasonable levels. They are precautionary drugs.

Hi Chuddie48, I've been in the Flair trial since August 2015 and have just been prescribed co-formidable on my clinic visit last month, I think it's to guard against chest infections which appear to be a side eff of ibrutinib. Good luck with the trial, Terry
