Three days ago my beloved father passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is now in a better place, resting, free of pain. I want to thank all of you for your precious help, especially Chis and Neil, and wish all the best with your treatments.
Here is the CLL journey of my father:
October 2015- Dx with mild CLL (watch and wait)
February 2016- started FCR due to B symptoms (8 cycles)
September 2016- PR
November 2016- CLL back and trial with Venetoclax
April 2017- Leg lymph node growing and Zydelig
June 2017- PCP caused by Zydelig
July 2017- CMV pneumonia
August 2017- Dx with Richters Transformation de novo
August 2017- 1st round of RCHOP and serious blood infection
August 2017- 0 platelets, 0 WBC, 0 neutrophils and brain hemorrhage.
Since my dad was diagnosed, I started spending more precious time with him, telling him more that I love him, and appreciating life more than ever.
I wanna thank him for making me the person I am now, and I wish some day I'll be half the man that he is in my eyes.
I'm gonna take a break from CLL society now, and I hope it's gonna be a long one.
God bless you all!

Nick, thank you for reporting the precious experience you and your father experienced through the toughest of times. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in considering all of us as you find your way back into your "normal" life. May your grief be lightened daily by the knowledge of your father's gifts to you and your ability to see him on a level we all wish to be seen. God Bless.
Condolences. Take time to rest, cry a bit and then more and more you will smile remembering the good times and knowing that your Dad is at peace. I am sure he is with the angels as you say.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time .The sun will shine again for you .Take time to grieve and rememder all the wonderful times you spent together .He will always be there in your heart and when you are at your lowest you will feel his strength ,when you are happy you will feel his warmth .You will never lose his love .
Heaven is now a better place because he's there. He will be forever watching over you and everyone he loves, showing himself in mysterious, and glorious ways. You'll know when he's there. It will be the sudden calming peace that comes over you, maybe the appearance of something he loved in nature, that just seems out of place at the moment. Our God is a loving God that always wants to know us, love us, and care for us, just like your dad was with you. The Lord will let your dad forever be a part of your life, albeit all so subtlety now.
I pray that you and yours can find peace and joy, knowing that your dad is finally completely and forever healed. He'll never know pain again, and will forever remain with you.
sharing your sorrow; my father passed less than a year ago and it is still a deep ache. focus on the best memories as they and our character are the reason our fathers never truly leave us. what a blessing you must have been to him. do take care of yourself.
Nick,
Your post brought tears to my eyes. How blessed that you were able to spend that extra time with your father and that his death was peaceful. I'm sure the precious memories will be comforting. If not now, than some day. I'm so sorry for your loss. You are a good son and I'll bet a great comfort for your father.
I'm new to the CLL site and this is the first very sad news I have come across. My heart goes out to you and I hope that with time the pain will reduce.
So sorry for your loss. So glad you spent more time with him and you will never regret that. The "c" word is a scary diagnosis, but with our faith in God we can all get through this. You and your family are in my prayers as you grieve the passing of you dad. May God grant you Peace and Understanding.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. You will have many good memories to draw on. Initially it's hard to cope but it does get easier with time and you can look at all the good things in life that are here because of him.
