Hi All
I have high basophils for the past year. None of my health care professionals understand why, I am aware high basophils are more related to CML than CLL. Should I get tested for this also? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated

There a few other reasons for high basophils. How high is high?

That's nicely high but in CML they are often around 10. There is a genetic test for CML (BCR-ABL) but I'm pretty sure you don't need it as high basophils is only seen in CML as part of a very typical picture and your Dr would recognise that.
An important consideration is if this is a one off result or a consistent pattern. If they have been raised for a while then the most common reasons are allergies, inflammation and autoimmune illness.
Basophils are full of large, inky granules (see picture) and they are produced in reaction to other conditions rather than being the cause. If you've tried anti-histamines and that hasn't worked then perhaps a check by your Dr for an autoimmune problem might be in order as they are more common in the dysregulated immune system of CLL.
