Hi Everyone

Well no more blood transfusions as HB has risen to 100, Platelets have risen to 76, so all looking good. We discussed further treatment and they are looking possibly at November start. Dr Schuh mentioned FLAIR was possible BUT I have read on website that if you have had another form of cancer ie bowel cancer then this type of chemo is not attainable....so will need further discussion with her. We will see her in 2-3 weeks time for a review.

Hubby is, at this very moment, on the phone to the Colorectal Lead Nurse so hopefully the cancelled op can be re-instated.... she just informed him that his platelets are still a bit low, but from what we understand they can give a platelet infusion before and up to the morning of the surgery.

He is much more active, to the point I am telling him to slow down to conserve his energy (shouldn't I be glad he's more energetic) guess in the back of my mind I'm scared he will have a relapse !!!

He is also back on the steroids as there was a misunderstanding with the pharmacist and the Prescription was only for 7 days with a note saying "to be discussed at Haemotology Clinic at next appt...... when in fact it should have been checked at the DTU when he was having his blood transfusions, so missed a full week.

His colouring is good.....no more yellow tinge.

I will keep you informed once any further news is available. Have a good weekend everyone and take care of yourselves.

Ahh, at last a time of a bit of relaxation--in your vigilance. I know the next surgery is there of weigh in. May you find strength in the moments of this time.

Susie, you are a mentor in the caring role. I hope you are feeling release of tension and taking care to get in a walk or two for yourself.

Keeping you both in my thoughts.

Never seem to get any time for myself, always doing stuff for others !!!

I'm afraid I'm one of these people who can't say no when asked to do something.
