Stress and Imbruvica

Diagnosed almost 3 years ago and now 14 months on Imbruvica.... I find that I'm not dealing well with stress.

Up until recently as we have been dealing with sale of a home I wasn't having any stress issues. Knew I would beat this SOB of a disease.. enjoyed doing all the things I've always done... golf, travel, chores, friends, family.

Recently accepted an offer on the home and since as buyers go through inspection and appraisal time I'm like losing it... can't sleep, no appetite, no energy... I've never in my 67 years been anything but optimistic in dealing with life's issues.

Has anyone else found that Imbruvica coupled with CLL caused these things?

Very sorry to hear that.

Moving home is one of the most stressful things we have to do in life, even without the CLL and treatment.

Have a look in the Pinned Posts section on the right hand side of this website. Expand it to see more items and you should find an article "Coping Strategies" by Paula. It's in three parts withlinks at the end of part 1 to parts 2 and 3. Part 3 put together by Kevin is the one to read.

Hope that might help. So try to focus on some of the advantages of where you are heading, and dedicate some time to the good things.

Yes, I have the same symptoms. I find that I have to avoid stressful situations and get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.

Not sure it was the Imbruvaca , maybe just the CLL..and age...I found that I didn't have time for petty, insignificant desires of the rest of the world , I was concerned that my life would be short and I had little or no tolerance for others desires..( banks and title companies lead the list ) They have to take a mile walk in our shoes to understand but no one takes the time to care about others problems..Once I realized that I couldn't solve the problems while trying to sleep most of my problems disappeared ..

I am on Imbruvica and sometimes a bit stressed. Although it might be the green tea I drink too. I take 5HTP pills sometime at night if I wake up to go back to sleep. Over all I am doing OK if I get enough exercise and sleep.

I take Curcumin ( turmeric) in drinks and sometimes pills and that seems to help my focus and mood a bit.

Be well,

I am on imbruvica for about 8 months now. About at month 5 everything took off and caused me stress. It would come and go and some days were worse than others. My doctor has me taking some meds to keep me level and that has helped a lot. Don't like taking them but at least I can sleep and function. It seems as time goes on it is getting much better as my numbers also get better. Hope this also happens with you.
