I posted on here quite a few weeks ago, but somehow it was shown, so no idea what happened there. Hope this one shows...

Hubby is doing ok, saw Dr Shuh on the 15th June ......she is a very hard person to read.

There was good and bad news though. Good news his WBC is down to 70 went up to 246, no longer suffering with iron defiency anaemia BUT IS STILL ANAEMIC totally confused.. she did say that she would have a look at scans to measure size of lymphnodes, even though spleen is enlarged. She suggested it just may be time to start treatment !!!!' If his anaemia has not risen by our next visit (25th August) a bone marrow biopsy may be considered.

Stoma reversal date set for 25th July! Can't wait to see the back of it.

Will keep you informed

Hi Susiecarer and thanks for that encouraging news on your husband. That Dr Shuh doesn't want to see him until 25th August must be very reassuring.

Anaemia can be due to a whole range of causes. From what you report, I'd say that your husband's anaemia is no longer due to a lack of iron, but another cause - most likely his CLL. If it doesn't improve, the bone marrow biopsy is Dr Shuh's way of determining if that's indeed the case which (along with a possible check of the tumour burden from swollen lymph nodes) would lead to the decision on whether to start treatment.

If treatment is needed, by then your husband will be in a much better state of health to manage it.
