Hi just a quick update. Had blood test yesterday and got call from hospital straight after to start 4 day GC-SF injection as my neutrophils are 0.3. I'm going to inject myself and wondered if anyone had any advice.

Neutrophils
I didn't find it too bad. The needle is very fine. I found I could numb the spot with an ice cube if I felt particularly sensitive! Good luck.
Being a bit of a wuss I got myself some Emla cream which is a local anaesthetic, worked a treat! As an ex nurse I had used it on patients so thought I might as well benefit, no prescription needed.. felt I had been through enough on the needle front with chemo transfusions...good luck!

My wife gave me the neulasta injections. One a day for 3 days in the stomach. Very small needle & barely feel the injection. Push the med in slow.
I guess I could've given myself the shots but glad I didn't have to.
Hope you are follow a neutropenic diet. Food handling must be impeccable...watch for cross contamination.. in the kitchen
