US CDC recommends both with a certain order and timing.

Agree with Steve. CDC is usually very on target with regards vaccines, though they got the zoster vaccine in CLL wrong. I included a link to the CDC in my post at bkoffman.blogspot.com. Should get Prevnar 1st, but if you have already had Pneumovax, I would follow up with Prevnar
