Good to hear! My nurse advised me that the LDL and total cholesterol was a bit high, especially due to my overweight, but I didn't think it was that bad.

Did the nurse check your height, waist and weight. If weight and the waist numbers are high you need to consider regular exercise and life style change to reduce them.

Cholesterol numbers can go up as we age.

You don say if these are just normal readings. i.e. do you have FH or are you on statins? If just normal readings they are ok in my view. If you have any condition my lipid specialist tells me HDL should be above 1.5. Mine is 1.88. LDL should be below 3. Mine is 2.9. Healthy total cholesterol is 4. UK average is 5. Mine is 5 but I am no statins. Good luck!

By the way what is FH?

People with inherited or familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) have a lack of low-density lipoprotein receptors that remove cholesterol from the blood.

Please google FH to get more information.

Thanks! No I don't have FH as far as I know. :) no relatives have high cholesterol.

I guess that's good news.

Hi sorry I did not post the numbers. I'm 5ft9.5 and weigh appx 265, so I have a BMI of 38. My waist was 49.25 so it was slightly more than the recommendation of max 40 inches

Take look at height to waist ratio in Google and work towards it.

good luck.

Oh I did a small check and i ended up my waist has to be 35 inch to be in the upper edge of the normal range. At the moment I get a waist to hop ratio that says severely obese! :(
