Taking some time out just to be me, so back in the Channel Islands.
Spent last night would you believe at a Zoo, camping over night. We had amazing facilities. Very waterproof tent, and decent shower and a basic kitchen. But the highlight for me as it got colder was the fire.
we had a log burner, and I spent a good 60 minutes or so building a lovely fire that kept us nice and cosy.
And after we drifted off to sleep, the fire went out, and in the early hours, we got hit by some of the heaviest rain ever!
The tent though kept out every bit of the weather, and we just lay there cosy, though we were very cold when we got up this morning!
Now in our favourite hotel, and and am nice and toastie.
It reminds me that how we feel goes in phases. I was cold, now I',m not. And even when I was uncomfortable, I wouldn't have swapped it. The experience was awesome, waking up to the noises of the animals who call Jersey zoo their home.
Times move on, this morning saw us warm up really quick, but it took a cooked breakfast to do it!
But I am reminded how simple life can be. Each of us really just needs warmth, food, water and some love from some where. And that is enough to make us thrive if we wish too.
People make life so complicated. Life is an experience. Seize it!
