Hi IWantToHaveHope and welcome to the community. I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you, It sounds like things are really tough for you right now and you're dealing with some difficult emotions. You mentioned not wanting to live anymore, and that you're struggling with anxiety and hopelessness . It's really important that you get the help you need if you're feeling this way. We'd encourage you to talk to your doctor about your mental health, and reach out to somebody you trust to talk about how you're feeling. If you ever feel like you're in danger of hurting yourself, we'd urge you to contact the emergency services in your country.
Please take care of yourself.
Hi IWantToHaveHope , I can't agree more with Tiffany, help is out there and it does take a brave move to access it, but thereafter you will get the support to get you through this dark time. The way you are feeling right now is not uncommon and lots of people in our situation have got through it and are living a very fulfilled and happy life. There is hope at the end of what might seem a very long dark tunnel for you and you will come out the other side feeling so much better about yourself.
Glad you've found the forum IWantToHaveHope . Living with a visible difference can be very hard. Especially when it's acquired later in life. You were used to seeing yourself in the mirror everyday for 25 years, then overnight you see a different person. That can be understandably traumatic. Like Tiffany and candidchameleon said, your mental health is the most important thing right now. Having complex emotions because of your visible difference is normal. Finding someone dedicated to helping you work through them, is what to focus on right now. I found a therapist who helped me address and finally start to overcome my challenges. I'm still growing, because we will always still be growing. But getting that support can offer you the hope you are seeking. If you can't afford a therapist, or don't have healthcare, look for professionals that either work on sliding scale, or are aware of programs that can help you. There is always hope!
