Dont know what to do

I was made redundant 2weeks after a partial knee replacement. It took ages to recover . Then covid hit.

2 years on I'm struggling to find work that is not on my feet all day. I have arthritis in my feet. I cant kneel down.

I am not comfortable with a customer facing job. Due to how I look and peoples reactions.

I was also badly bullied in a previous work place due to how I look. He was sacked eventually.

I would rather work alone. Sick of humans.

I just dont know what to do

I am sorry that you've had such a tough time recently. I understand a bit where you're coming from. I've been out of work just over a year and don't have a clue of what I can do. I also had an unpleasant experience at my previous job. Some factory/warehouse work can be done sat down. Obviously with this you would working with people. Most jobs involve people somewhere along the line. If you are in a position to do so, you could always start your own business. I understand how you feel, I'm getting to point where I'm fed up with people. Are you able to drive with the arthritis in your foot? If so, then maybe a driving job. I really hope you find something soon and are able to go forward in life 😀

Thanks for sharing Birdie12345, it can be really disheartening when you’re struggling to find work. I’m also out of work at the moment but one positive about Covid is the huge increase in working from home roles. I find Indeed is the easiest site to navigate, you can select ‘Remote’ to find WFH options. They’re often aimed at people who have customer service experience, ie have worked in a shop or call centre. Or how about being a support worker for people with disabilities? Those roles often don’t require experience, just empathy and kindness.Otherwise don’t give up trying to find the right job for you. I’ve had some awful jobs, with bullying, nasty managers, and then some jobs where everyone was lovely. You have every right to earn a living in a friendly, supportive environment. And don’t forget, plenty of people without a visible difference hate their jobs too!

Good luck 😊
