My facial surgery scar

I was devastated when I saw the scar on my face following surgery to remove skin cancer. 8 weeks on and a little ordinary foundation make-up and I am pleased with the result. I hope that this is reassuring to anyone who is going through my this right now. Unfortunately I can't upload a before photo, as well, as there is only the facility to upload one image, but I will try if you want to see it. But believe me, I thought it was horrendous. I was expecting a 1.5" incision, and landed up with 3" long incision. Sad thing is that, I have to have it done all over again because the margins of healthy skin are not enough. But I am not so afraid for the next time. I have an asymmetric face now, like I had a facelift but only on one side. But,. when it's all over,.there is always Botox, or a mini facelift for the other side.

Hi PDM1956, Thanks for sharing your story and photo, I honestly don’t think I would have noticed your scar if it wasn’t pointed out so that shows how well the body can heal. Sorry you’ve got to go through the procedure again but at least now you know what to expect. Good luck and keep us posted with the results!

Good attitude.

Hello PDM1956, what an encouraging story! Sorry to hear that you've got to undergo surgery all over again but it's wonderful to hear about your resourcefulness and more importantly that you are not so afraid anymore. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes to you!

Great attitude, I had something similar from a bike/car accident. Better that than the alternative is what I say

Hi, I can relate to your situation. I had skin cancer surgery two years back then I had visible scars on my face, and my face became asymmetrical. I was fed up when the cancer was diagnosed but I regained the confidence after my surgery. That confidence was only for a short time and then the asymmetry of my face due to that surgery bothered me a lot. So I did a lot of researches on the internet for the treatment to make my face symmetry and I have waited a while like you to heal the skin surgery scar. After much research, I opted for the facelift and done it after a month. Facelifts helped (solomonfacialplastic.com/fa... to resolve facial asymmetry by tightening skin and muscle and removed the excess skin and fat from my face. Now my skin looks clear and even, this alone enhanced my overall appearance. So, proceed with what you have planned and be confident always like this.
