What does Skin Camouflage mean to you?

Hi there. Using specially designed products to cover up a visible difference can help someone’s confidence. Amal was involved in a car accident when she was 13, which left her with third-degree burns to her face, arms and feet. She felt this dented her confidence. But after she came in to see one of our Skin Camouflage practitioners, for the first time in her adult life, she felt like herself.

You can read Amal’s full story here: telegraph.co.uk/christmas/0...

If you feel like you’d benefit from Skin Camouflage, we have clinics throughout Scotland and England including our new South West services in Bristol and Exeter. See more info at changingfaces.org.uk/skin-c...

Have a good week, whatever it brings.

I'm aware it's slightly different for everyone else, but during my cancer treatment on one of my my chemo breaks I took part in a mini workshop with other young girls called 'Look Good Feel Better tee'. They gave us free quality makeup that was donated by top brands and in the process told us how to put it on. (because women/girls lose their hair and become really pale due to cancer, they just taught us how to put life in our faces again and put on fake eyebrows and etc it was great!)

I had to have another session again where a practitioner had to come to my house because due to my operation making me look completely different and my skin flap being a shade darker then the rest of my face (so it looks like I have a giant birthmark), we had to go through a lot of things to make my cheek blend into the rest of my face.

I do believe that by her doing that makeup became less for vanity reasons (like in the past) and more for survival like it was my battle makeup 😅😅. It boosts my confidence so much when I go out and as some people may find it a waste of time... For cancer patients and people with a facial difference, it helps ALOT 💕.

I haven't tried your camouflage service but maybe when my flap goes down on my cheek I'll give it a try ❤️ I can't wait for that to happen x.
