My 30 year old son lives in a care home in a different county to me. The MP in his county has told me that he cannot represent my son and that any questions have to go to my MP. I’m not sure if this is correct. Anyone know the answer?
Thanks

Hi Qelizabeth1234, It seems that you have just joined our community, so a very warm welcome to you. That's quite a poser and I'm not sure either, but it seems likely to me that you would approach your own MP for help because that's who you'd approach if your son was living at home and is your dependant.
Given that the other MP has actually been approached and has directed you to your own, I think that, if I were you, I would do that, mentioning in doing so that the other MP has directed you to him/her.
I'd be really pleased if your own MP is able to help you, and even more pleased that, if it is the case, you'd come back and let us all know.
It's so often the case that at some time in future, some other member might need that same information, and it's really useful to be sure.
But for now, very best wishes in finding your way forward with this with no further setbacks. Very best wishes to both you and your son.
